We understand that holistic care goes beyond medical treatment. Our compassionate and experienced interdisciplinary team is here to support you and your family in various ways. The hospice team consists of the following members:
♠ Physician/Medical Director: Dr. Cory A. Waldman, MD, (Internal Medicine, Cardiology & Hospice Medicine), our hospice Medical Director, is responsible for overseeing our patient’s medical care, as well as collaborating closely with primary care physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure that our patients are receiving appropriate pain management, symptom relief, and other medical care.
♠ Nurse Practitioner/ Director of Nurses & Patient Care: Debora Gregory, MSN., F-NP. wears many hats, she is the Agency’s Founder, as well as the Director of Nurses & Patient Care. Her duties include ensuring that patients are receiving appropriate care, that staff are following the correct procedures, and that the agency is meeting all regulatory requirements. Debora, under the direction of the medical director, communicates with patients, families, and other providers to ensure that everyone is on the same page about patient care.

- Nurse Practitioner: Esther, NP., PhD., our brilliant and compassionate NP., her duties include assessing patients’ needs, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications, and managing pain and other symptoms.
- Registered Nurses (RNs) & Licensed Vocational Nurses(LVNs): Ellen, RN., Gina, RN., Janeth, RN., Diem RN., Alma, LVN., Anita, LVN., & Abeeb, LVN., our compassionate nurses provide skilled care, monitor your symptoms, administer medications, and offer support and education to both you, your family, and your caregivers, 24/7.
♥ Hospice Aides: Angels, Priscila, and Rocio, our certified hospice aides offer personal care, assist with activities of daily living, and provide comfort measures to enhance our patients’ quality of life.
♥ Social Workers: Jewels Chatman, LCSW., and Susan Derby, MSW., are our experienced social workers tasked with providing emotional and practical support, helping families/caregivers and patients navigate the challenges and changes that come at this stage of the patient’s life. They can connect families/patients/caregivers with community resources, assist with advance care planning, and provide counseling for patients and their loved ones.
♥ Spiritual Counselor: Rafael Rivas is our compassionate spiritual counselor is available to provide guidance and support in matters of faith, spirituality, and existential concerns. He offers spiritual comfort, helps address spiritual questions or conflicts, and provides a compassionate presence during this profound journey.
♥ Bereavement Counselor: Susan Derby, MSW., is our dedicated bereavement counselor who provides compassionate support to families and loved ones before and after the loss of a patient. Susan offers counseling services, support groups, and resources to help navigate the grieving process and find healing and hope.
♥ Hospice Volunteers: The Caring Like Family Hospice team of volunteers work collaboratively to ensure that our patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met with utmost care and compassion. Our volunteers are committed to walking alongside our patients, their families, and caregivers, providing comfort, companionship, and support throughout the hospice journey.
♥ Hospice Administrative Staff: Our office staff plays a vital role in providing quality care to patients and their families. They are responsible for a wide range of tasks, including coordination of patient care and Overseeing the hospice’s operations by ensuring that the hospice is compliant with regulations and that patients are receiving the care they need.
